Night Moves

Jennifer and Jessica are my two daughters. Although they both have always loved music, I had never heard either one really sing a song at home. The first time I heard Jessica sing was when she appeared in the musical "Grease" as a senior in high school. I was amazed at how beautiful her voice was and nagged her for years until she finally agreed to record "Freddy, My Love" for me. I think she secretly enjoyed the recording process because she later agreed to record "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" for me also.

It was not long after Jessica's recording that Jennifer told me she would like to sing a song with me and I got my second surprise. The song she chose was, "How's The World Treating You?" and she sounded wonderful. I really enjoyed singing with her.

Jennifer is currently the Chief Operations Officer of BioSun biochemicals in Tampa and Jessica is the archivist for the Calvin Klein collection in New York City.

Brenda Harrell is a secretary at the school where I was principal and has a beautiful voice with a personality to match. She and I began singing songs for talent shows at school and decided to record them. She is still at Lake Gibson Middle School and is still a good friend.

 Larry Helms was with me in our very first band, The Cyntars, and we played off and on together for many years. The song "True Loving Ways" was written by Larry and recorded in my garage on an old four-track recorder around 1985. The song on this CD was recovered from an old cassette master and is of poor quality but included anyway. Larry died recently and will be greatly missed. He was one of the finest musicians I have ever known and a true and loyal friend.

 These songs are dedicated to all the musicians I've known throughout the years. There is no feeling comparable to standing on a stage and making music with your friends. I will always cherish those memories. My only regret is that we did not have the easy access to the technology back then to preserve some of the great sounds we made.

Some of the songs you will hear were recorded several years ago and some were recorded within the last month or so. The results vary according to my level of recording expertise at the time.

 I hope you enjoy listening to the songs on this CD  as much as we all enjoyed recording them.
